Shoulder

Intraarticular Shoulder Injection

The shoulder is prone to different kinds of injuries and inflammatory conditions. An intraarticular shoulder injection is a minimally invasive procedure to treat pain and improve shoulder movement. It may be performed with the help of ultrasound or fluoroscopic imaging which allows Dr. Vengurlekar to precisely target the intraarticular space.

Ultrasound-Guided Shoulder Injections

An ultrasound is a common imaging technique that employs high-frequency sound waves to create images of organs and other internal structures of the body. These images provide valuable information about the underlying pathology of tissues and assists with diagnosis and planning the treatment of a condition. The ultrasound provides a clear view of organs, tendons, muscles and joints, and any associated disorders.

Hip

Hip Injections

If needed, a relaxation medicine is administered through an IV line. You will be made to lie face-down on an X-ray table. The small area where the injection needs to be given is numbed with an anesthetic. You may feel a sting for a few seconds. A small needle is then accurately placed by Dr. Vengurlekar into the joint guided by real-time X-ray images (fluoroscopy). Before injecting the medicine, a contrast dye is injected through this needle into the joint to confirm that the medicine will reach the joint. A combination of anesthetic and anti-inflammatory cortisone is then slowly injected into the joint. The whole procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes.

Knee

Knee Steroid Injections

steroid injections involve administration of medicine through a needle into your hip to relieve pain and inflammation. Cortisol is a hormone that is naturally produced in the human body and functions to reduce stress and inflammation. Steroids are synthetic drugs that resemble cortisol and are used in treating joint pain. Steroid injections are often combined with other treatment options such as physical therapy, other medications, and occupational therapy.

Intraarticluar Knee Injection

Knee pain and stiffness can be disabling and difficult to treat. It can limit an individual’s lifestyle and negatively impact body image and emotional well-being. An intra-articular knee injection is a very effective form of treatment where medicine is delivered directly into the knee joint with the primary objective of relieving pain from conditions such as arthritis.

Larry Center on Premier Pain Institute

“I met Dr. Vengurlekarat a charity golf tournament in Scottsdale recently. When I heard about his pain management practice, I was extremely impressed. Having played in the NFL for 14 years, I know many former players who suffer from chronic pain. I applaud the efforts of Dr. Vengurlekarand Premier Pain Institute to use minimally invasive procedures to alleviate pain and avoid major surgery or long-term use of pain killers.”
